Beginnings
World Video was started in the mid 1960s by building video monitors for the broadcast and television industries. With the introduction of the MicroImage Video Systems division in 1983, World Video took a new direction. Moving away from video monitors, new sales would be special?video camera systems designed for microscope use. After the introduction of the cameras, MicroImage Video Systems quickly realized there were other, highly specialized video processing products that could work well with these systems and set on a course to create designs that would fulfill the needs and solve problems for our clients.
Today
Today, MicroImage Video Systems manufactures a full line of advanced video products to help our customers solve their imaging, measuring, testing and comparison problems. The majority of MicroImage products fall into the categories:
- video overlays (video based measuring, crosshairs, text, patterns, data & pointers, overlaid onto live video in real time)
- test signal generation (color bars and?custom test signals)
- multiple-view (split screen, side-by-side, quad display controllers)
- conversion/distribution products (encoders, decoders, distribution amplifiers and video?switches.
Present products include both standard and high definition products.
Custom Designs
Our custom capabilities started back in the 1960s when NASA approached us to build specialized field sequential monitors for the Apollo Space Missions. Built to NASA specifications, these monitors provided the means to view color images from space and the moon landings. MicroImage Video Systems has created many custom designs for large and small companies. Many are based on our existing products or board sets to help reduce design costs.
