The MicroImage PXQ524 is a
true high performance quad display controller designed for
demanding applications. In addition to the quad display, the
unit will also display two full images side-by-side unlike split screen, which only shows a portion of each
image. The two images may be easily exchanged with a front
panel switch. The side by side display works well with wide
screen monitors where the additional black at the top and
bottom isn't as visible, maximizing display use. The
MicroImage Video Systems Quad Display controller has been
designed for industrial and professional applications.
Operation is simplified with easy to use buttons to control
commonly used functions rather than having to waste time in
deep menus for common functions.
The input signals are
standard composite video, in NTSC or PAL format (all must be
the same format). Genlocked sources are NOT required. The
source video signal can be almost any composite video signal
from a studio camera to camcorders and even the output of a
VCR. The system will lock to many signals, even those of
less than perfect quality. Each of the four input signals
has a dedicated memory area for frame synchronization.
In the dual and quad display modes, an optional border line
may be selected to divide the images. This border can be set
to off, black, dark gray, light gray and white via a front
panel switch. Quad displays
are commonly used for security or monitoring of multiple
locations or angles at once. All four images can be easily
recorded onto one medium eliminating temporal issues with
multiple playback recordings.
Two full images displayed side-by-side reduces the need for
two monitors and and is commonly used in clinical
applications such as behavioral sciences. Two subjects at
different locations can be monitored and recorded with a
precise time alignment.
Video conferencing typically has multiple people conversing
at once and the side-by-side dual image as well as the quad
display mode can be used successfully in this application.
Courtroom display systems, which are becoming increasingly
popular can benefit from the full image side-by-side or quad display
and remote switching capability
of the PXQ524. Two
simultaneously displayed images allow for comparisons that
are necessary in Forensics, Bio-Medical and industrial
production. Displaying them on the same monitor allows very
precise comparison. The output signal of the PXQ524 can also
be sent to a video printer for a precise hardcopy.
The PXQ524 uses state-of-the-art, high performance digital
signal processing (DSP) to maintain the highest quality
video signals. This assures a consistent image will always
be displayed. The PXQ524 will always produce both composite
and S-Video signals simultaneously.
The PXQ524 family of products works with a variety of video
sources and cameras. The PXQ524 will work with almost any
video cameras (or other video sources) that have a composite
output signal and meet the NTSC or PAL standard. Genlock is
NOT required.
The standard RS232 control allows the PXQ524 to be
controlled by a computer or other device or from a remote
location. See the protocol definition manual for additional
information. A Rack mounting
kit is available as an option.
Power is provided by a
universal power supply (included) or it can be operated from
+5VDC +/-5% (negative ground). The unit is packaged in a
durable metal enclosure with plastic end bezels.
Board Level, OEM and Custom products are also available.
Please contact MicroImage Engineering for additional
information. A Rack mounting kit is
available as an option. RoHS products are available for
those countries that require units with RoHS compliance.
RoHS units are lead-free.
The PXQ524 is available completely
packaged (cased) or as a board level product for OEM
applications. Power is provided by a universal desktop power
supply (included with cased products) or it can be operated
from +5VDC (negative ground). Board level products do not
include the power supply and a 5VDC regulated power source
must be provided. The unit is packaged in a durable
metal enclosure with plastic end bezels. Board Level, OEM and Custom products are also available.
