Video Distribution Amplifiers (sometimes
called a video splitter - not to be confused with a video
split screen controller such as our PXD510E split screen
controller) are typically used for connecting a camera or
other video source to several monitors that do not have
"looping" inputs. In this situation, each monitor has a
permanent 75 ohm termination. With two non-looping monitors
connected together, the line would be double loaded and
result in a dim picture on each monitor. Using a Video
Distribution Amplifier will solve this problem by driving
each monitor individually at 100%.
The second application is when the video signal is run over
distances greater than 50 feet. The coaxial cable has a fair
amount of signal loss over long distances. When multiple
monitors are connected after long runs of coax, the
degradation can be severe, especially when dealing with
modern, high bandwidth signals that have 450+ lines of resolution.
The VDA212RM is a 19" Rack Mount Video Distribution Amplifier
designed for professional applications. It will operate with
NTSC & PAL video signals as well as many common Black &
White signals. These units use the latest integrated
amplifier technology for superior performance and
reliability. Portable and rack mount units are also
available. Custom units or modifications can be manufactured
at a reasonable cost.

utilized for the video connections.
Two units can be used for RGB video signals and
low voltage sync signals (0.2-1.5 Vpp).
The model VDA212RM-12 is available for mobile applications
where a clean 12VDC power source is available.

Custom sizes up to 500 feet and special very low loss cables
are also available. BNC, S-Video and RGBS cable sets in many

The VDA212RM is available as packaged or as board level product.
Board level products do not include the power supply and an
appropriate regulated power source must be provided. The standard
board level product with a -01 suffix includes the standard
video connectors that the cased product uses. For OEM
applications, we can provide units with header and other
connection types. Custom designed or modified versions are
also available. MicroImage Video Systems has designed many
custom derivatives of the standard video distribution
amplifier to
